If the Google Channel isn't installed, you'll be prompted to do so during the GA4 tags setup process. Connecting to the Google Merchant Centre isn't necessary for GA4 tag setup completion.

Steps:

1. In your Shopify admin, navigate to Online Store > Preferences.

2. In the Google Analytics section, click Manage pixel here.

3. Click Connect your Google account.

4. Choose the Tag ID for the GA4 property you wish to link to your Shopify store.

5. Click Connect your Google Analytics 4 property.

After setting up GA4 tags, specific ecommerce events are tracked automatically. For more information on event tracking in GA4, refer to Setting up Google Analytics events.
